Atif Bajwa's extensive career, spanning over four decades, is marked by his adept and strategic leadership in the global and local banking sector and his contributions to various boards and public interest roles. He commenced his professional journey with Citibank in 1982 and has since held numerous distinguished positions in large local and multinational banks. His tenure includes notable roles such as President and CEO at Bank Alfalah, MCB Bank, and Soneri Bank. Additionally, he served as Citigroup's Regional Head covering Central and Eastern Europe, led Consumer Banking for ABN AMRO in the Asia Pacific region, and acted as Country. Manager for ABN AMRO in Pakistan. Mr. Bajwa has actively participated in business, social, and public interest endeavours, spearheading significant advocacy initiatives to influence economic and social realms. He has chaired the Pakistan. Business Council (PBC) and presided over the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and industry (OICCI). Furthermore, he has contributed his expertise as a director on the boards of various private and public sector enterprises. He staunchly advocates for sustainability as a pathway to progress. He champions initiatives like promoting higher education to build youth skills, enhanced mother and child healthcare systems, and an inclusive Pakistan.
